Easy Bacon Baked Beans
Easy Bacon Baked Beans are the perfect colder weather side dish that is packed with protein. These would be a nice addition to a holiday meal or even game day.
Method
-
1
Preheat the oven to 400F.
-
2
Heat an oven-safe 5-quart pot over medium-high heat; add the bacon and cook until crispy, about 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
3
Turn the heat down to medium, add the onion and cook until softened, but not browned, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the garlic and cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
-
4
Add the stock, ketchup, maple syrup, vinegar, molasses, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon, salt and black pepper. Bring up to a boil, and then turn off the heat and stir in the beans.
-
5
Cover the pot and bake for 30 minutes. Give the beans a stir, and then bake (uncovered) for 15 minutes more.
-
6
Serve warm.
Notes
The beans will thicken as they sit, and the flavor blends if you can make it a day in advance!
