Simple Garlic Parmesan Green Beans

Method

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil with a steamer insert. Once the water boils steam the green beans until they are almost tender and a bright green color {I usually test one to see if it is the texture I like}.

  2. 2

While the green beans are cooking heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, onion and a dash of salt and pepper and sauté until soft.

  3. 3

When the green beans are done cooking drain them. Add the green beans to the large skillet with the garlic and onions and sauté the green beans in the mixture making sure all of the green beans get coated with the garlic and onions over medium heat. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

Remove from the heat and sprinkle the parmesan cheese over the green beans. You might also like a squeeze of lemon juice over the finished green beans to brighten them.

  5. 5

    Serve warm.
