How to Make Homemade Granola

Method

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. 2

In a large bowl combine the oats and almonds. Put the olive oil and honey in the bowl and stir well to combine.

  3. 3

Add the spices and vanilla and continue to mix well.

  4. 4

Spread parchment paper on a baking sheet and spread out the granola mixture.

  5. 5

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes total, stirring every 10 minutes to make sure all pieces are baked evenly.

  6. 6

Add the dried cranberries to the granola mixture during the last 10 minutes stirring well to mix it up.

Notes

Granola stores well for up to 2 weeks after you make it in a sealed container. I have heard you can even freeze it (but it doesn’t last that long in my house). My granola took about 26 minutes total (you don’t want it to get too toasty or it has a burnt flavor). Check the granola every 10 minutes and stir to keep the pieces cooking evenly. I noticed in my oven the granola got golden brown before the 30 minutes was up (at about 26 minutes total). Keep an eye on it, because it really depends on your oven.
