Method

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line a 9x13 baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. 2

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions, olive oil, 1 tablespoon butter, and salt and pepper to the pan and sauté for 3 minutes. Turn the heat down to medium-low and continue to cook for 10-12 minutes or until the onions are soft and slightly caramelized. Set aside.

  3. 3

Cut the rolls horizontally in half. Place the bottom of the rolls onto the baking sheet.

  4. 4

Place 6 slices of provolone cheese on the rolls. Top the cheese with the roast beef.

  5. 5

Top the roast beef with the caramelized onions. Top the onions with 6 slices of cheese. Add the top of the rolls to the sliders.

  6. 6

To a bowl add 3 tablespoons of melted butter, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and garlic powder. Mix until combined.

  7. 7

Use a pastry brush to brush the butter mixture on top. Cover the top of the rolls with an aluminum foil tent.

  8. 8

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the sliders are heated through and the cheese has melted. Remove from the oven and top with poppy seeds and fresh parsley.

Notes

Double the Recipe: This recipe is easily doubled or tripled if you are feeding a larger group. Fridge: Store leftover sliders in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Reheat: To reheat leftover roast beef sliders slowly heat them in the oven at 300 degrees. You also could air fry them but the bun would be a bit crispier. Buns: Use the right type of buns that work when making sliders. I recommend using Hawaiian sweet rolls or small potato rolls, as they provide a soft, sweet base for the sliders. Caramelize the Onions: If you have extra time I highly suggest caramelizing the onions. This helps add a rich, savory flavor to the sliders. Cutting Buns: Make sure to cut the buns horizontally to keep the individual rolls intact. This helps to keep the sliders together better while baking.
